3. App
NoiseLog Privacy Policy
NoiseLog is a local noise-monitoring and event-documentation tool for iPhone and desktop. Microphone audio is analyzed only after the user starts monitoring. If video evidence is enabled, the camera is used and a short rolling pre-buffer is held in memory. When video evidence is disabled, the camera is not opened. Only events that meet the user's trigger settings (including time-period decibel thresholds) are written to device storage.
On iPhone, location is used only when you tap Identify Location. The app compares that fix with region data on the device to suggest a reference limit, and asks Apple to turn it into a street or neighborhood name for the watermark. The app does not upload or store coordinates. You can choose a region by hand without using location.
Audio, video, sound-level data, logs, reports, and optional address text are processed and stored only on the user's own device and are not uploaded to the developer. On desktop, files are saved on the user's computer and can be managed with the system file manager; on iPhone, files are saved inside the app. When the user chooses to save or export, recordings, videos, and reports can be saved to the system Photos app or Files app; saving to Photos requires the user's photo library permission, which the user can revoke in system settings at any time. Once saved there, the files are managed by the system and the user—deleting the app does not remove them—and if the user has turned on iCloud Photos or iCloud Drive, the system may sync them according to the user's own Apple settings (the developer cannot access them). NoiseLog requires no account, contains no ads or third-party analytics SDKs, does not upload evidence to developer servers, and does not sell or share user data.
NoiseLog Pro is offered as an auto-renewable subscription through the Apple App Store. Purchases, billing, renewals, and refunds are handled by Apple; the developer does not receive payment card details or Apple ID credentials. The app checks subscription status on the device through Apple's StoreKit only to unlock Pro features and does not send it to developer servers. See the Apple Privacy Policy. Subscriptions can be managed or cancelled in iPhone Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions.
Users control retention and may delete, move, or back up files. Saved records are kept when a subscription ends. Uninstalling the desktop app does not necessarily delete saved evidence files. Deleting the iPhone app may remove data stored inside it, so export anything you want to keep first. Permissions can be revoked in system settings, and video evidence can be disabled in the app.
Readings vary by microphone, placement, and calibration. NoiseLog is not a legally certified sound-level meter. Its outputs are supporting records, not legal advice or a guarantee of admissibility. Users are responsible for complying with applicable recording, privacy, and data-protection laws.
